On the site of the former Napoleon Urbanowski Iron Foundry and Machinery Factory on Kolejowa Street, one of the most exciting developments in central Poznań is taking shape – Kolejova1. This unique project seamlessly blends modern architecture with the city’s industrial heritage. Its centerpiece will be an impressive 55-meter high-rise with 17 storeys, set to become a new architectural icon of the Łazarz district.
The project is being developed by Novaform Polska, with the architectural concept designed by the Poznań-based studio LAB3 Architekci. The investment includes a comprehensive revitalization of the historic buildings on-site – including the restoration of a former boiler house and chimney, which will be transformed into modern commercial spaces.
The development will include:
190 residential units,
29 commercial premises housed in revitalized post-industrial buildings,
A three-level underground car park,
A green courtyard featuring urban furniture such as benches, deck chairs, chess tables, as well as a dry plaza fountain and a mirror pool for visual effect.
APP-Projekt plays a key role in the investment process, acting as the investor’s supervision team, overseeing technical execution and coordinating works involving historic elements. The project presents a unique engineering challenge that requires precision, experience, and great respect for the historical context of the site.
The completion of Kolejova1 is scheduled for early 2027.
